Vanessa Quinn

Don Mills has been home to Vanessa Quinn since 1993. She became active in the DMRI in 2016, when Mallow School was sold for redevelopment. As DMRI Area 5 rep, she was able to negotiate additional park land for Mallow Park at North York City Council and made a presentation to Toronto City Council about the need for a community centre for Don Mills youth. Since that time, Vanessa has been involved in ensuring a balance between development and community benefit. Currently, she is heading the subcommittee on the revitalization of Macklin Hancock Park at the heart of our community. Aside from the DMRI, Vanessa has been recognized with an Arbor Award from the University of Toronto for her 20+ years of volunteering at Victoria College and is a choral member of Toronto City Opera, dedicated to the enjoyment of opera for all. Professionally, Vanessa is a certified teacher and librarian, and brings her knowledge of diversity and inclusivity to the DMRI to ensure that all community members’ voices are heard. She looks forward to serving the Don Mills community as president of the DMRI and thanks John Cockerill, past president, for his dedicated service.

David Pike

We moved into Don Mills 21 years ago because of the wonderful trails to walk on and the sense of community! We have been members of the DMRI for 20 years, and I have been the treasurer of the DMRI for 7 years.
